Learn and Live

This project targets Ukrainian children and their parents. It aims to help children and their parents to adapt to their new environment by introducing them to Swiss history and culture through series of excursions in and around Lausanne, guided tours of Lausanne museums and workshops on Swiss art history.
We believe that these activities will enable ukrainian children to gain a better understanding of the country, its customs, and traditions. Following the example of their children, the parents will be encouraged to learn about the history and traditions of the country they live now.
The study of Swiss culture and history will not only enable Ukrainians to broaden their knowledge and adapt more easily to the current situation, but above all to learn the values of our country. We believe that once the war is over, many Ukrainians will return to their homeland, but the knowledge and values they learn while living in Switzerland will enable them to build a new Ukraine that will become a full-fledged member of the European Community.
All activities proposed in this project are focused on culture, history and savoir-vivre in Switzerland and canton of Vaud. They include visits to historic monuments such as Lausanne Cathedral and Saint-François Church, strolls through the streets and alleys of Lutry and Vidy, excursions to the Museum of Arts Bruts, the Cantonal Museum of Beaux-Arts, the Palace of Rumine (the Museum of Zoology and Paleontology) and themed workshops in the refugee centers and Ukrainian day center at Scottish Church of Lausanne.
A total of 13 activities took place between September and December 2022, attended by over 270 people (children and parents).
